Build Four New Plants
Omark's Worchester Division will build a new 15,000-foot plant to produce diamond blades and grinding tools for cutting of stone, concrete and other masonry materials. It will replace a leased facility in Worchester.
Final plans are being prepared for a new 78,000-square-foot plant in Guelph, Ontario, for the company's Canadian subsidiary, Omark Industries Ltd. It will replace an existing facility in which Omark manufactures timber harvesting and construction fastening equipment for marketing in Canada and overseas.
A new plant for manufacture of saw chain will be established in San Juan, Puerto Rico, by Omark Caribbean, Inc., a new subsidiary. It will be housed in a 1,1000 square foot building being constructed by the Puerto Rico Industrial Development Company for lease to Omark. The building is scheduled for completion November 1.
Produce 90,000 Block In Eight Hours
A machine that will produce 90,000 concrete brick or 12,000 8" x 8" x 16" concrete block in an eight-hour day is being introduced to the American building industry. The machine, a West German product, is called Zenith and its first U. S. installation is in Pensacola, Florida. In addition to doubling the production of most American made machines, the Zanith boasts several other innovations. It is mobile, manufacturing block like a giant mechanical chicken laying eggs. It is capable of producing larger units than American equipment. It is portable, enabling the owner to move his plant nearer his market areas. The distributor for Zenith in North and South America is S. S. W. Products, 44 King Street West, Toronto, Ontario.
