Fallout Shelter Report
A report on the way fallout shelter construction requirements could be incorporated into four national model building codes has been produced under sponsorship of the Office of Civil Defense, and submitted to the governing boards of the four national code groups for their approval.

They include the National Building Code, the Southern Standard Building code, the Uniform Building Code and the Basic Building Code.

Meeting at the headquarters of The American Institute of Architects, an ad hoc committee including code group representatives, approved the provisions of the report. If their direction boards concur, the Office of Civil Defense will recommend that the provisions be included in the model building codes of each organization.
