Fork Lift
Gough Masonry Construction Company of Gary, Ind., has realized considerable savings with an International 4421 Fork Lift completing the masonry work.
Rubin Appliance Warehouse building in Hammond, Gough used the 4421 to make 21-ft. lifts of cement blocks, mortar and structural steel to supply six masons working on the building.
Mixers
PCM Division of Koehring Company has announced new literature on two machines in its line of concrete, bituminous and plaster-mortar mixers. The units are portable concrete mixers, designated the KWIK-MIX 312-S and KWIK-MIX 316-S Junior. These machines have a capacity of 3½ cu. ft. of mixed material, allowing for a ten per cent over-flow.
The 3½-S Junior is powered by a Briggs and Stratton 80351, 3 hp., air-cooled engine. The standard KWIK-MIX 312-S has the features of the Junior and in addition offers an end or side discharge feature; a locking hand wheel with friction brake to hold the mixing drum in any position a 5.4 p. Wisconsin AENL 57-D engine; larger tires and spring mounting.
Both machines are of all-welded construction for years of heavy service. Both are equipped with curved and square mixing blades to provide rapid, thorough mixing of concrete. Contact the manufacturer, PCM Division of Koehring Company, Port Washington, Wisconsin.
Unibilt Panels
Universal Manufacturing Corp., Zelienople, Pa., has issued a new brochure describing its complete line of Unibilt panels and accessory systems for masonry, maintenance and shoring work.
The eight-page brochure also introduces Universal's new 4 x 4 Muty panel, a smaller version of Unibilt scaffolding. The new panel is designed for residential and other light-duty applications with loads up to 50 pounds per square foot and heights to 40 feet.
As with other Unibilt scaffolding, the light duty mason panel requires no tools or extra parts for assembly. Panels and bracing are joined quickly and easily with the Unibilt brace lock. Because the panels are only four feet wide, the scaffolding is also ideal for use in narrow corridors and in other restricted areas. Unibilt scaffolding and shoring components are available on a rental plan or purchase.
Copies of the new "Universal Unibilt Scaffolding" brochure are available from Universal Manufacturing Corp., Zelienople, Pa.
Space Heater
Champion Heater Company has announced a new 100,000 B.T.U. class portable space heater for the 1965-66 season.
Known as the Champ Junior, the heater is actually a small version of the large CHAMPION Job-PRODUCT PROFIT Maker Heaters that have proven so popular in past years. It has all the important features found in the larger CHAMPION heater models, including two separate sources of air... one to support combustion, the other to circulate heated air. The heater is equipped with a filtered nozzle permanently regulated for complete combustion. This means fumes and odors are virtually eliminated.
The Champ Junior has semi pneumatic tires and sturdy steel carrying handles for easy portability.
Champ Junior features automatic purging for fully automatic expulsion of heat after the heater is turned off. It burns kerosene or No. 1 fuel oil and operates on standard 110 Volt, AC current. A remote thermostat is available.

New Core Bit Series
Dia-Set, a revolutionary new diamond core bit series representing a fantastic breakthrough in core bit technology, has been introduced by the Clipper Manufacturing Company of Kansas City, Missouri.
These remarkable self sharpening diamond bits, containing the finest quality processed crushed diamonds, are made with a unique bonding process that holds the diamonds in place and keeps them cutting up to 24½ times longer than ordinary throw-away bits. One reason for the greatly increased life is the new method of manufacture that allows complete use of all the crushed diamonds. In the conventional bit an appreciable amount of diamond remains unused at the time the bit will no longer drill.
Many other features contribute to the outstanding performance of the new Dia-Set series.
Due to the unusual design, the new Dia-Set bits are less susceptible to damage than the usual run of bits. They withstand considerably more of the abuse that is often encountered on normal construction jobs.
Dia-Set Bits drill faster. After drilling the first hole or two, drilling speed increases and remains constant for the entire life of the bit.
The gauze stones on the new Dia-Set bits are handset to maintain desirable side clearance and increased drilling speed.
Scientifically placed waterways adequately cool the crown, help increase maximum bit life.
In addition, the new Dia-Set bits utilize Clipper's improved one-piece Tru-Run adapters. These precision machined adapters eliminate the chance of improper fit, loss of parts and costly bit slippage.
No bit runout results in longer bit life. Valuable time is saved because there's no down time for installation, and there's no chance of damaging the bit during installation.
In multiple job uses all over the country, Clipper's new Dia Set bits are setting new records for drilling speed and bit life in tough, reinforced concrete, masonry and refractory materials.
For complete details on these amazing new Dia-Set bits, write the Clipper Manufacturing Company, P.O. Box 9604, Kansas City, Missouri, or phone collect South 1-9500.
Lubricant
A new lubricant that eliminates most of the problems caused by improper lubrication of the masts of fork-lift trucks is now available. Called Superflake Slip-Plate, it is a dry film graphite lubricant that comes in a paint consistency. It dries within a few minutes and forms a hard graphite film that is an extremely effective lubricant with good protective qualities.
Slip-Plate will not attract dirt or dust and resists effects of moisture and extremes of hot or cold. It is an ideal lubricant for unusual operating conditions such as extremely dusty or dirty areas where conventional types of lubricants cannot be used because of dirt build-up. Being unaffected by heat or cold, the lubricant is also ideal where extreme temperature variations exist (-70 to +800° F.).
Slip-Plate is available in 1, 5, 10 and 55 gallon drums at local industrial distributors.
Samples and complete information may be had by calling or writing Superior Graphite Co, 33 South Clark St., Chicago, Illinois 60603, telephone (312) RA 6-7939.
