Joining the staff of Pittsburgh Corning Corp. as a field sales representative is William F. Frein. He will cover the St. Louis/Kansas City territory. Competing in the Bermuda International Light Tackle Tournament recently was Past President Stephen D. Raimo, Syosset, N.Y. From latest reports Steven took the honors. Newly elected officers of the Associated Masonry Contractors of Metropolitan Chicago are: Frank Laureys, President; Claire Esche, Vice President; Fred Beyer, Treasurer and Dick Lauber, Secretary. The 17th Annual Southern States Apprenticeship Conference will be held in New Orleans, La., July 28-30. The Minneapolis Chapter has appointed a new "Precast Products Committee to work with the MAA Research Committee. Members of the Minneapolis group are: Chet Sazenski, Chairman; Bill Quinlan, Bill Molin, Don Johnson, Harry Olson, Dennis Tollefson and Dick Reiman.

Clarence Hoekstra has been named Sales Vice President of Ochs Brick & Tile Co., Springfield, Minn. Milton Thesmacher, President of the Building Construction Employers Association, Cleveland, Ohio, from 1946 to 1954 passed away in Boston June 8. In addition, Mr. Thesmacher served as Chairman of that organization from 1954 to 1964. Allan Benzick of Glazier Sand & Gravel Co., Minneapolis, has been appointed to the position of Executive Secretary of the Minnesota Federation of Engineering Societies with headquarters in St. Paul. Frank Messer & Sons, Inc., Cincinnati, Ohio, recently announced the election of officers. They are: Charles Messer, Chairman of the Board; L. L. Sundahl, President; Louis J. Messer, Vice President and Treasurer; James C. Perin, Vice President and Secretary; Loren W. Poff, Vice President and Miss Helen Schrenk, Assistant Secretary-Treasurer.
