New Plant for Porta Costa
(Continued from page 15)
Port Costa Clay Products Company is one of Contra Costa County's oldest industries. It was established at the present 150 acre site near the town of Port Costa in 1905. Since its purchase by Homestake Mining Company of San Francisco nearly two years ago, production improvements have bolstered brick output nearly 100% to make Port Costa the largest brick producing plant in Northern California. Ties enlarged by more than $6 million dollars in investment since 1964.
CASH VALUE GUIDE
A new service to provide used construction equipment cash value data has been announced by the Used Construction Equipment Research Corporation. Founded in 1960 under the auspices of Associated Equipment Distributors, UCERC is an independent research organization for the used construction equipment market.
Cash value data are compiled from a continuing industry-wide survey of distributors. The results are combined with extensive equipment reference information provided by major manufacturers and published in a Cash Value Guide. The Guide is available on a subscription basis to any firm concerned with used construction equipment. Subscribers are provided with a three-ring binder, tabbed section dividers, and separate cash value sections on major equipment categories-released individually and up-dated on a continuing basis.
Sections printed to date (and mailed to subscribers with the binder) are: (1) crawler loaders and dozers and (2) wheel dozers and loaders.
UCERC will also publish used equipment cash values for: (1) portable air compressors, (2) power cranes and shovels, (3) motor scrapers and haulers, (4) compaction equipment, (5) motor graders, (6) ditchers, (7) off-highway rear dumps, and others. These will be forwarded to subscribers as they are completed.
UCERC's 1966 President Leonard A. Nixon-a Knoxville, Tenn., distributor-labels the Cash Value Guide "a virtual encyclopedia on all major types of used construction equipment, covering models produced by major U.S. manufacturers over the past 10 years."
