Expansion Program
National Wire Products Corporation of Baltimore, Maryland, has just completed an expansion program that has doubled the production facilities of its Savannah, Georgia plant to 120,000 square feet. The program, according to Ray C. Faust, President, is the second phase of the company's overall major opening of a 50,000 square foot branch expansion effort; the first was the manufacturing facility in Kearny, New Jersey in January.
Earn Two-Hour Rating
A 1:8 mix of vermiculite concrete roof insulation, 2 to 6 in. thick over prestressed concrete units 1½ in. thick, has earned a two-hour fire rating from Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., of Chicago. A 1:6 mix recently earned a similar two-hour rating.
The tests were made so that fire-rated roof insulation, slope to drains, and leveling-out for camber in the prestressed roof system could be obtained in one operation, L. A. Barron, managing director of the institute said.

The first is to hear yourself talk.
Are you reducing what you have to say to the absolute minimum? Is there a quicker, easier way to say it? Are you doing any "backtracking" in your talk? To backtrack means to go back and go over the same thing again, usually introducing what you are going to say by saying. "In other words."
When you have something especially important to say to someone, write it down first. Read it over enough times so that it's well fixed in your mind. By knowing beforehand the things you are going to say, you have a much better chance of controlling the conversation.
The late British writer, Herbert N. Casson, who during his long lifetime said so many good things, advised those who wanted more influence over people to learn to "Talk Net."
To talk net means to eliminate as much as possible from every sentence, so that only the net-the important things, the essentials were let.
"Form the habit of talking net," he promised, "and within weeks those around you will take note of it. They will look upon you as efficient. They will favor you more and more.
"For what the world needs is not more spoken words, but fewer spoken words and they the best that can be conceived."
