Plan Seven Seminars
Regional Seminars in seven major Texas cities. These seminars will begin on the 19th of September in El Paso and will conclude on September 27th in Dallas. Other seminar dates and locations include Lubbock, September 19; Amarillo, September 20 and Austin, September 21. Seminars on the following week include Corpus Christi on September 25 and Houston on September 26.

All of the seven Regional Seminars will be conducted by Albyn Mackintosh, author of the Design Manual. Assisting at each of the seminars will be Mr. Henry Toennies, Director of Engineering for the National Concrete Masonry Association.

Vaughan Gray, Executive Vice President of the Texas Concrete Masonry Association stated the purpose for holding a series of Regional Seminars as opposed to one large all day meeting was primarily that of convenience for those attending. The Regional Seminars will permit people to attend with relative ease regardless of their geographic location. Attendance at any seminar would not take any individual away from his job more than one day. The seminars are scheduled to run from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the afternoon.

The Regional Seminars are open to all architects, engineers, mason contractors, general contractors as well as any others that are interested in learning more about the load-bearing masonry concept for multi-story buildings. Copies of the new TCMA Design Manual will be distributed free to individuals attending any one of the seminars. Further information on the Regional Seminars can be obtained from the Texas Concrete Masonry Association, 1010 Lavaca, Austin Texas 78701.
