Speakers' table and demonstration area are two of the most important items that must be covered when planning a meeting. Notice the raised platform, good podium and excellent demonstration placement. Associate members were given the task of disseminating this message. At this time, also, arrangements for food and refreshments were made, with a tentative guarantee being given to the hotel.
During the day of the meeting President Conner, with his Committee, arrived several hours in advance to make sure the details surrounding the meeting were taken care of. Such things as
Registration table at entrance way
Badges printed and displayed
Projector available and working
Proper seating arrangement in the room
Demonstrations set and ready
Speakers' table on elevated platform with podium
-water and glasses available
Microphone works
Light switches checked and person delegated to operate them. Heating and ventilating checked. Final details with maitre d'hotel on food and beverages were checked. These are just a few of the many small items that go into making a meeting run smoothly. When the guests arrived, everything ran smoothly, since everyone was aware of his particular responsibilities.
A time schedule was worked out and very closely adhered to, so the speakers, as well as the audience, knew exactly the progress of the meeting. Starting off exactly at 4:30 P.M. the speakers progressed until 5:35 P.M., this being approximately 5 (Continued on page 50)
