MORE ABOUT ...
OUR JANUARY COVER
The striking picture of the Community Services Building, Toledo, Ohio, which appeared on the January, 1972 issue of Masonry, has elicited this enlightening comment from Robert J. Gulyas, Special Products Manager for Medusa Portland Cement Company of Cleveland: "Too bad your publication is not in living color! The significant project in Toledo which you featured... con tains a rather interesting background story.
"This was a large project requiring some 7,200 sacks of Medusa Custom Color Masonry Cement 24-A, type M. This buff colored masonry cement was specified by the architects, and we were asked to furnish a high strength level product to help the mason comply with ASTM C-270 specification for type M mortar.
"Medusa, therefore, undertook both responsibilities gladly and the result was a very nice job involving cooperation from the architect, contractor, supplier and cement manufacturer. That result is a good testimonial of fine masonry work."
