Block production, according to the National Concrete Masonry Association, will reach 3.7 billion units with sales exceeding $1 billion in 1972.
General Portland, Inc., Dallas, Texas, has elevated four men to new posts in its southeastern division headquartered in Tampa. They are: Dan L. Griffith, to manager of budgets and control; Arnold C. Haynes, to North Florida regional sales manager; Richard A. Ramsey, to specialty cement sales manager, and Samuel T. Wadsworth, to manager of marketing services and distribution. Best's Blocks, Inc., Fresno, Calif., recently played host to a touring team of Japanese officials representing manufacturers of concrete construction materials in their country.
The Minnesota Concrete & Masonry Contractors Association held its monthly meeting on November 21 at the Sheraton Motor Inn in Bloomington. Featured speaker was Angelo A. Percich, president of Arc-Tech, Inc., an architectural firm in Saint Paul. The Ontario chapter of the Canadian Masonry Contractors Association held its annual meeting on September 30. Elected president of the board of directors was Eugene George of Kitchener, who is also an MCAA regional vice president. Harry R. Faulk has joined General Portland, Inc. as manager of finance in the company's southeastern division, and Walter Adler, Jr. has been named general marketing manager of the same division. David J. Walczyk has transferred from the Washington Research Center of W.R. Grace & Co. to become manager of contractor equipment for Grace's Construction Products Division in Travelers Rest, S.C. Huron Cement Division of National Gypsum Co., Southfield, Mich., has announced the appointment of Jed L. Greer to the newly created post of director of distribution.
New JI Case Division
A newly-formed Light Industry Group which consolidates four JI Case Company divisions under one head has been announced by Thomas J. Guendel, Case president and chief executive officer.
The divisions making up the new group are Davis Manufacturing, Outdoor Power Equipment, Concrete Machinery and Vibromax.
