NADD Report
By: Jeffrey L. Brock

Washington, D.C.-NADD's Chapter Committee has been working vigorously toward establishing a NADD chapter in the Cincinnati area. This could mean a total of nine new members. A Dayton chapter is also being considered. Harmony on the local level is of major importance to the chapters, and perhaps the use of technical speakers at various chapter meetings might bridge any gaps between distributors/dealers and product knowledge.

George Kruer, Lincoln Brick Company, Grand Rapids, Mich., and chairman of NADD's Transportation Committee, has done an outstanding job in relaying the latest information from the railroads to the Association. He is responsible for the future Signode Survey and a form will be created to meet NADD member needs to help assure better car loading. Mr. Kruer and NADD's executive director hopefully will be attending a meeting in Richmond, Va., with the C&O and B&O Railroads within the next few weeks.

And close to "down south of the border way," Great Southern Supply Company, Houston, Texas, is opening a new showroom for architects in Timmons Square. The grand opening took place August 15-18, according to Howard Dudding, president of the company and our NADD vice president.

Plans are now underway for the NADD/BIA convention, October 21-25, 1972, in Boca Raton, Fla. The annual members meeting will be held Sunday, the 22nd. At this year's meeting a different program will be put together for a sampling of things to come.

An elderly woman strolled calmly out into the street after a cop had flagged her to stay on the sidewalk. "Lady," he roared, "Don't you know what it means when I hold up my hand?" "I ought to," she snapped. "For the last 25 years I've been a school teacher."

Definition of a camel: A horse put together by a committee.

"But, Dad," argued the daughter. "Don't you believe that two can live as cheaply as one?" "I certainly do," agreed the harassed father. "Right now your mother and I are living as cheaply as you."
