IMI Releases New Film First Principles
Now available to masonry industry promotion groups is the International Masonry Institute's latest motion picture, First Principles. The full color-sound movie takes the viewer on an international trip to see the most outstanding vintage and modern loadbearing masonry structures designed by noted architects. It features the work of the late Louis I. Kahn, FAIA, here and abroad, and graphically proves that the masonry system need not be limited to apartments and motels.
This 17-minute film has been produced as one-half of an IMI audio-visual package which will enable groups to conduct loadbearing masonry system seminars. The second half of the package is a technical slide show being produced by IMI with technical assistance from the Brick Institute of America, the National Concrete Masonry Association, and others in the masonry industry.
With the film and slide show, along with a local engineer or architect who has recently been involved with a local loadbearing structure, groups can effectively and economically present the full loadbearing story in a series of meetings for architects, structural engineers, design students, investors, builder-developers and others. For this reason, IMI encourages local groups to purchase the film and later the slide show which is scheduled for finalization by July. The low purchase price represents only what it costs IMI to reproduce the material, and includes no mark-up or pro-rating of production costs.
To purchase your print of "First Principles," send your order and check for $60, which includes parcel post, to IMI. If airmail shipment is desired, please indicate, with a check for $63. For a free copy of IMI's catalog of films and slides, send a stamped, self-addressed envelope with your request to IMI.
