The Great Salmon Round-Up

Early on Tuesday morning, June 15th, Mason Contractors and their wives began gathering in Portland for one of the biggest salmon hunts of the decade. Under the able leadership and guidance of Lenny and Linda Pardue the party departed for Ilwaco, Washington. With a bright and early start on Wednesday the members boarded their boats eager to catch their limit. Some hours later and with a few sick (reports indicate about all) they came back to Ilwaco with a record haul. Biggest fish was Earl Child's 25 pound Chinook-and Earl caught the most, 6. Other reports from the Captain on the more unpleasant side affect of the rocky ride indicate that Linda Pardue got caught up in the effort first, but Earl Child, in spite of his fishing attributes, out did them all. However, Bob Tubesing gave the sound effect men new heights to conquer with sounds that haven't been duplicated since Jaws.

Of the twenty who participated, 13 of them showed up for the final ceremony. Look at that smile on Earl Child.

Here's the biggest catch of the day-Earl Child holds the 25 pound Chinook for all to admire.
