Elect Boettcher State Chairman

Edgar Boettcher. Jr., Saginaw, Mich., has been elected Chairman of the Michigan Mason Contractors Association with Francis Costella, Southfield, being elected Vice Chairman. Roger Parker. Holt, was re-elected Secretary-Treasurer.

The officers were elected at the association's annual meeting held at Shanty Creek Lodge in Bellaire, Mich. during mid-September. Featured speakers at the meeting were Larry Martin of the Michigan Road Builders' Association and William Dentinger, Regional Vice President, MCAA. MCAA President Robert Ebeling, Romeo, also reported on activities of the national association.

Guests at the head table for the luncheon seminar hosted by the Spokane Chapter of MCAA (pictured from the left): Bill Cooper, sales manager, Layrite Products Co.; Bill Schoultz, president, Spokane Chapter; Jack Watts, business agent, Bricklayers' Local #3; Bob Fraser, promotion manager; Ray Wimer, MCAA Northwest field representative, and speaker Mel Kroker. Fraser and Wimer handled the arrangements for the meeting.


Spokane Chapter Holds Promotion Lunch

Members of the Spokane (Wash.) Chapter of MCAA played host recently to approximately 100 architects, structural engineers, building officials and masonry suppliers at their second masonry promotion luncheon meeting in the Ridpath Hotel. Featured speaker was Portland architect Mel Kroker, who related the development of the Mountain Park Town Center in Lake Oswego located eight miles from downtown Portland. This center is comprised of 300,000 square feet of European concept shops and stores that feature innovative masonry designs.
