CMCA Elects Officers, Presents Awards
The election of officers and the presentation of two top awards highlighted the 10th Annual Conference of the Canadian Masonry Contractors Association held recently at the Hotel Nova Scotian in Halifax, N.S.
Reelected president for 1977-78 was William J. Young of Maritime Bricklayers Ltd., Fredericton. Others elected to the association's National Board of Directors were: D. Maniago, Acme Masonry Ltd., Vancouver, B.C., 1st vice president: R. H. Welch. R. H. Welch Masonry Ltd., Edmonton. Alta., 2nd vice president: T. Mascarin, Deluca & Mascarin Masonry Contractors Ltd.. Toronto, Ont., 3rd vice president. and P. L. Martini, Twin Masonry Ltd., Toronto. Ont.. secretary-treasurer.
Two industry leaders were honored with high awards. W. Gordon Plewes was presented the CMCA's Outstanding Achievement Award for his notable contributions to the masonry industry in Canada, and Robert B. Beach of Clipper Construction Products. Norton Company of Canada, received Life Membership in the association for his many years of devoted service to CMCA.
