R. Moline Masonry, Inc., Burnsville, Minn. The St. Louis firm of Manske, Dieckmann & Partners, Architects has announced its recent name change to Manske, Dieckmann & Kostecki, Architects.
Joseph E. Mitchell, who has been deputy assistant to the President for Congressional Liaison, has been appointed director of the Federal Preparedness Agency, a division of the GSA. The American Concrete Institute has named Gilbert E. Seeley as special assistant to the executive director, and H. Michael Grabman as director of education. Owens-Corning Fiberglas Corp., Toledo, Ohio, has elevated Geoffrey M. Mann to marketing manager, acoustical contractor and roofing contractor markets, and Michael H. Staggs to manager of the St. Louis Supply Center. Royce G. Gernert has been named customer services manager for Metropolitan Ceramics, Inc., Cleveland, Ohio.
F. W. Dodge Division of McGraw-Hill Information Systems Co., New York, N.Y., has announced appointments of four new vice presidents: Wesley A. Fraser as vice president of operations, Robert C. Violette as vice president for manufacturing, J. Donald Clayton as vice president of marketing, and Timothy C. Jameison as vice president of product planning. Donald G. Lauck, Jr. has been named director of marketing & distribution for U.S. Steel's Universal Atlas Cement Division, Pittsburgh, Pa. Charles R. Fertick has been appointed central regional sales manager, Metropolitan Ceramics, Inc., Canton, Ohio. Frank J. Feely, Jr., vice president and director of Exxon Research & Engineering Co., has been elected president of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
Vernon H. Fobes, Des Moines, la., has been elected to a second one-year term as president of the Brick Institute of America. Fobes is vice president of Can-Tex Industries, a leading producer of brick and structural clay products. More than 3,000 persons attended the recent Expo 177 Home Builders of Greater Chicago's annual Home & Apartment Show in the O'Hare Exposition Hall. Among the exhibitors was the Metropolitan Chicago Masonry Council which raffled off beautifully designed brick benches that were placed strategically throughout the exhibition hall. On a sad note, Chester E. Abbey, research consultant for the Gypsum Association at the National Bureau of Standards in Washington, died October 24 in Washington.
