MCAA CONFERENCE REPORT

opportunity for its continued construction. In the short time that this building system has been available, it has put a sizable dent into the metal building market in Wisconsin, Prossen said. The system does not directly compete with other mason contractors but rather supplements their work in a given area, he said.

The final speaker at the Wednesday morning session was I. J. Chasen, president of Profit Research On Operating Factors (PROOF). Chasen, himself a contractor, is developer of the "PROOF" cost management system for service trade businesses. PROOF deals exclusively with the recognition and recovery of contractors' indirect or overhead cost, and how to adjust cost and pricing (bidding) to varying levels of field employment.

Chasen's presentation outlined why it is important to nail down the essential aspect of overhead cost and how a cost management program can work for all service trade organizations. Wall charts and color-coded blocks were used to illustrate and supplement his remarks.

On Wednesday afternoon at 1:30, the MCAA Annual Meeting was held. After hearing the reports of Officers and Committee chairmen, the members considered two major items of business-a revised dues structure for the Association and the realignment of its geographical regions. Both measures were subsequently adopted by unanimous vote.

Article V, Section 1 of the Association's Constitution and Bylaws was revised to allow for the addition of a tenth Regional Vice President and the rearrangement of states within certain regions to create the tenth region. The major geographic changes came to former Regions A and C. which now consist of three regions instead of two. (Please see the new MCAA regional map accompanying this report.)

The newly elected Regional Vice Presidents are: Richard C. Matthews. Miamisburg. Ohio. Region C: Richard Felice, Des Moines, Iowa, Region E, and W. J. Young. Fredericton, N.B., Canada, Region J.

Reelected Regional Vice Presidents were: Anthony Zotollo. Great Neck. N.Y., Region A: Paul Clements.
