Canadian Construction Safety Awards Presented
At the recent annual meeting of the Metro Toronto Mason Contractors Association, board members were elected and safety awards were presented. At the right, Richard Martini (left in picture) presents the annual Romano Martini Safety Award, named in honor of his late father, to Eugene George of George & Asmussen Ltd., Kitchener. The firm also won an award from the Construction Safety Association of Ontario for its low accident frequency rating.

Below, Len Sylvester (left), general manager of the Construction Safety Association of Ontario, presents his organization's safety awards to Joe Zamparo of Zamparo Brothers Masonry Ltd., Maple, and Tom Filipowich (far right) of Filipowich Masonry Ltd., Downsview. Both firms were cited for their low frequency of accidents in differing categories.
