Farley at BIA 25 Years
Corporation secretary Charles N. (Norm) Farley marked his 25th anniversary at the Brick Institute of America last December 1. He was toasted by BIA president Jay Gleason and other members of the staff in "appropriate fashion" to celebrate his long tenure. MCAA extends its congratulations.
Lewis Appointed Head of Target Engineering
Robert L. Lewis has been appointed manager/engineering of Target Products Division. Federal-Mogul Corp., Kansas City, Mo., reporting directly to Carl F. Roemmele, CEO & general manager.
Before joining Target, Lewis had been employed at General Electric Co. in a variety of technical and marketing positions, and before that worked for Westinghouse and Aerospace Materials, Inc. He is a graduate of Ohio State U. with a B.S. degree in metallurgical engineering and an MBA in marketing.
Target manufactures a wide range of masonry power saws, core drills, diamond and abrasive saw blades, diamond drill bits, and other equipment for the construction industry.
Paul Clements Leaves Kentuckiana Institute Post
Paul A. Clements, chairman of the Kentuckiana Masonry Institute for 14 years, resigned effective January 1, 1984. He assisted in the formation of the institute and since that time has served as chairman.
Under Clement's direction, the institute implemented the first Kentucky Masonry Cost Guide; created computer programs for the design community; established a large masonry library for design information; created the "M" Awards program for excellence in masonry design, and formed the Masonry Industry Council.
Clements is actively involved with MCAA, having served as a regional vice president for a number of years, and participates in numerous other construction related activities.
Ontario Masonry Council To Present Awards
The Ontario Masons' Relations Council has announced the commencement of its 19th annual Unit Masonry Architectural Design Awards Program.
One Award of Excellence and up to six Awards of Merit will be presented, based on both masonry design and workmanship, in this year's program. The awards to architects will be formally made at an OMRC Awards dinner ceremony in June, 1984, at the Board of Trade Golf & Country Club.

'84 IMI Annual Meeting Slated for Washington
The International Masonry Institute will hold its 1984 Annual Meeting at the Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C., June 24-27.
Registrants and their guests will have the opportunity to go to Annapolis, Md. (approximately one hour away by car) to tour the historic Brice House, flagship for the International Masonry Center.

St. Louis MCA Installs New Officers and Boards
The Mason Contractors Association of St. Louis installed officers and directors to lead the organization through 1985 at its installation and dinner dance at the Marriott Airport, January 14.
John J. Smith of John Smith Masonry Co. succeeds Edward E. Bach of Edward E. Bach & Sons, Inc. as president. Assisting him are Carl J. Heumann, Carl Heumann Contracting Co., vice president; Ronald R. Pfleger, Ron Pfleger Brick Contractor, Inc., secretary, and John Klaric, John Klaric Contractor, Inc., treasurer.

NCMA Names John Heslip Exec. Vice President
John A. Heslip, formerly president of the Masonry Institute of Michigan, has been named executive vice president of the National Concrete Masonry Association. He began his new duties February 1, 1984.
Heslip joined the Masonry Institute of Michigan when it was founded in 1969. In 1975 he also became executive director of the Masonry Institute of Northwestern Ohio, and in 1981 assumed additional responsibilities as
