Dave Gaston has been elevated from general sales manager to vice president/sales of Mayco Pump Corp., Los Angeles, Calif., a leading manufacturer of grout and concrete pumps... Sika Corp., Lyndhurst, N.J., has added James E. Yates, a civil engineer, to its newly organized Marketing Services Division... J.A. (Tony) Wintz III, P.Ε., formerly with the Brick Institute of America, has announced the opening of Joseph Wintz Ltd., a professional corporation specializing in masonry engineering consulting.
Nick Weisbrod of Ervin Weisbrod & Son has been elected president of the Unit Masonry Association of Greater Cincinnati. Other officers elected were: Ron Jacob, Leonard F. Jacob & Sons, Inc., vice president, and Ron Lehman, Cincinnati Builders Supply Co., secretary/ treasurer... Sam Reynolds of the architectural firm Dockery, Hunter, Reynolds, Jewel, P.A., won a first-place award in the 1983 National Concrete Block Paver Design Competition sponsored by the National Concrete Masonry Association.
Masonry Awards Banquet Scheduled for March
The Illinois Indiana Masonry Council announced that its awards program dinner dance honoring the winners in its 1983 Excellence In Masonry design competition will be held March 31 at the Hamilton Hotel, Itasca, III.

Earlier, he served as masonry products manager for the Huron Cement Division of the National Gypsum Co. and was a mason contractor for six years in Saginaw, Mich. Heslip is a member of the American Society for Testing & Materials, the Construction Safety Bureau, the American Society of Association Executives, and is an honorary member of the Detroit Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. He has lectured extensively on masonry at Lawrence Institute of Technology School of Architecture, the Schools of Architecture and Engineering at the University of Michigan, University of Detroit and Wayne State University. He studied engineering at Michigan State University, and his military service included two years with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
