Dietrichs Observe 50th Year of Marriage
Les and Martha Dietrich celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary August 13 at a reception hosted by their children in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Les was one of the pioneers of MCAA, serving from 1964-65 as its eighth president, and had been a successful mason contractor in the St. Louis area for many years.
The Dietrichs now reside at 13403 Cedar Drive in Sun City, Ariz. 85351. MCAA wishes them many more years of happiness and good health in their leisure years.

Charles E. Scriven has been appointed product manager for Koehring Lorain, a unit of AMCA International Corp., Chattanooga, Tenn. Melville J. London, retired president of Genstar Cement & Lime Co., San Francisco, Calif., has started practice as a consultant to the cement and redi-mix concrete industries, operating from his home in Marin County. Tim R. Hansen has been promoted to advertising & sales promotion manager of J I Case Co.'s Construction Equipment Division, Racine, Wis. Laticrete International, Inc., Bethany, Conn., has opened a West Coast facility at 3401 Etiwanda Ave., Bldg. 931-D, Mira Loma, Calif. 91752.
A campaign kickoff reception was held recently for Ray Bohart of MCAA's Las Vegas Chapter in his bid for election to Assembly District 13. The Masonry Institute of Dayton recently held a dinner meeting that featured slide presentations on "Slender Walls" by Donald Woodland, P.E.
Elks Pick Dick Harris For Statewide Honor
Richard E. Harris, MCAA West Virginia state chairman and Insurance Committee chairman, has been selected "Elk of the Year" by the West Virginia State Elks Association. The selection was made from nominations submitted by the state's 23 lodges having some 18,000 members.
Harris was cited for his service to the lodge and his participation in various local, state and national programs. Besides serving as an elected officer in his home lodge, Charleston Lodge No. 202, and chairman of many committees, he also served on state committees such as Youth Activity and the National Foundation Committees where he was awarded the first Honorary Founder's Certificate to be presented to a member of his lodge.
Harris is president of his Charleston-based construction firm, E. L. Harris & Son, Inc., which has been an MCAA member for 33 years. His father, Evan L. Harris, was one of the founding members of MCAA and is now an Honorary Member.
CSI Relocates Office

Koeppe Joins Seedorff
Donald G. Koeppe has joined Seedorff Masonry. Inc., Strawberry Point. Ia., as field superintendent and area manager for the Omaha and western region, announced Charles W. Seedorff, president of the firm.
Koeppe compiled 30 years' experience in the masonry field with Kehm Construction. Seedorff Masonry now does masonry work in nine states in addition to Iowa.

Lull Engineering Buys Equipment Manufacturer
Lull Engineering Co., Inc., St. Paul, Minn., has announced the purchase of Construction Machinery Co., Waterloo, Ia.
Construction Machinery Co., organized in 1909, manufactures front and rear discharge concrete mixers in 3 to 12 cu. yd. sizes. The units are sold nationwide and also are exported internationally.
Lull Engineering manufactures rough terrain lift trucks and a wide line of skid steer loaders. Lull also owns Erickson Corp. of Minneapolis, maker of specialized industrial material handling equipment.
Billings Named Director of Arizona Masonry Guild
Brooks Billings, industry coordinator for the Arizona Masonry Guild and Masonry Industry Program of Arizona since 1975, has been elevated to executive director of the statewide organization. In his new post he will direct a wide range of informational liaison between the Guild and architects, engineers, contractors, manufacturers and others involved in the masonry construction industry.
Prior to joining the Guild, Billings served as coordinator of the industry's Joint Apprenticeship Committee program in Phoenix for 12 years. Before that he was a mason contractor and bricklayer for 16 years.
ASC Slates Conference on Collective Bargaining
Associated Specialty Contractors, Inc., of which MCAA is a member, will hold a Collective Bargaining Conference December 8-10 at the Anatole Hotel, Dallas, Tex.
The conference is for experienced management labor negotiators who have 1983 or 1984 responsibilities for bargaining on behalf of their associations. Registrations are limited to 150 persons.
