About Our Cover
The impressive five-story Jefferson Building, sited on the west side of Cathedral Square in Milwaukee, was recently selected as a winning design in the fifth annual "excellence" awards program sponsored by the Masonry Institute of Wisconsin.

Glenn M. Johnson, president of Flad & Associates of Milwaukee, Inc., project architect, commented: "The Jefferson had to be responsive to and compatible with excellent examples of both contemporary and traditional architecture which surround Cathedral Square. The use of brick on the interior as well as the exterior was the obvious answer to achieve a sense of maturity and quiet harmony with The Jefferson's neighbors."

The mason contractor on the project was Knuth Masonry, Inc., New Berlin, Wis.
