EUGENE GEORGE continued
He served as president, secretary, vice president, and president (1978-79) of the Mason Contractors Association of America (MCAA), the only Canadian so elected. In 1973, he was the recipient of MCAA's highest honor- the "Lead Man Award."
He also was chairman and vice chairman of the International Masonry Institute, as well as chairman of the Masonry Industry All-Weather Council and a trustee of the Bricklayers & Trowel Trades International Pension Fund.
In Canada, he was founding president of the Canadian Masonry Contractors Association and received the Association's "Outstanding Achievement Award" in 1973. He also was the first president of the Ontario Masonry Contractors Association and sat on its board of directors. He is presently involved as a trustee or member of some 20 masonry industry organizations and their committees in the U.S. and Canada.
What does he do in the meantime? For the past 35 years, Gene has been playing hockey, getting in at least one game a week. It's an outlet he keenly looks forward to, and he schedules his activities to accommodate it. And his hockey activities aren't confined to the ice; he also served for a number of years as founding president of the Kitchener Rangers junior hockey club.
Gene and his wife, Pat, have been married since June 28, 1952, and have a family of eight sons. An avid baseball player, Gene reserved the shortstop position for himself, thus completing the entire ball team.
Saturday evening completes his generally hyperactive work-week that often involves extensive travel. It is a time for taking the family to Mass, and a time for quiet and reflection.

Oscar and his wife, Eva, reside in Hillsborough, Calif. They have a married daughter, Carolyn, who lives in San Mateo with her husband and their children.
