F. Sullivan, associate deputy administrator for logistics at the Veterans Administration, has been named commissioner of the U.S. General Services Administration's Public Building Service. John Lauer has been promoted to operations director of Max Barken Construction Co., St. Louis, Mo.



C. E. Kaiser Co., Houston manufacturer of ceramic tile mortars and grouts, has appointed Frank Douglas, Rich Wheeler and Robert Buff as field technical representatives. Harry L. Ferguson has been elevated to national sales manager of the Building Products Division of W. E. Bonsal Co., Charlotte, N.C. Gary L. Lawson has joined Access Engineering USA, Inc. as district sales & rental manager for the Carolinas at the firm's headquarters in Charlotte, N.C.

USG Corp. Stock Split

The board of directors of USG Corp. (formerly United States Gypsum), Chicago, Ill., has approved a 2-for-1 split of its common stock and increased the quarterly dividend 12%. The dividend increase was the third in 15 months.

NCMA's Lenchuk Retires

Paul Lenchuk retired on February 6, 1985 as president and chief executive officer of the National Concrete Masonry Association. He joined the association in 1968 as executive director and was named president and chief operating officer in 1973. During his tenure, new markets for concrete block were developed, including loadbearing concrete masonry, customized concrete masonry, and block pavers.

Another landmark reached under his management was the construction of the NCMA headquarters and laboratory building in Herndon, Va., which features the largest and most well-equipped research and development laboratory in the concrete masonry industry.

Lenchuk indicated he and his wife, Helen, plan to live in London, England, for a period after his retirement.
