"Managing and Financing Independent Business" is a seminar designed for Mason Contractors, key managers, entrepreneurs and business advisors. The Program highlights are:

* Get the facts to make accurate decisions on pricing, cost structuring and sales volume.

The seminar instructor for this course is Steven C. LeFever. Mr. LeFever is President of Business Resource Services and is a national leader in the development of financial programs for the independent business community. His dual role as a successful entrepreneur and as a commercial banker gives him a unique perspective on independent business, financial management and banks.
This seminar is under the direction of the MCAA Education Committee, Sam Lowry, Chairman.

ACI/ASCE 530 Masonry Code-What it means to the Masonry Industry

This seminar introduces the all-new Masonry Structural Design Code, Building Code Requirements for Masonry Structures, (ACI-ASCE 530), and its accompanying Specification for Masonry Structures, (ACI/ASCE 530.1). After 10 years under development, these documents contain the latest design and construction requirements for masonry. For the first time in the United States, requirements for clay, brick, concrete block and composites of brick and block are presented under one cover. The specifications which will be emphasized in these discussions are referenced by the Code. They contain construction and testing requirements for masonry. Your attendance will help you:
1. Stay abreast of the latest design in construction requirements for masonry.
2. Stay ahead of competition.
3. Help promote masonry construction and your firm by being knowledgeable about your industry.
Seminar instructors for this course are:
Mario J. Catani, MS., C. E. President, Dur-O-Wal, Inc., Arlington Heights, IL. Mr. Cantani is Chairman of the joint ASCE/ ACI Committee 530 Masonry Structures and has extensive experience in design and manufacture of masonry units. He is a member of ASCE, ACI, PCI and PI.
Gregg Borchelt, P.E., Director of Engineering and Research, Brick Institute of America, Reston, Virginia. Mr. Borchelt is a member of the 530 Committee, and has been active in the development of the new masonry code. He is Past President of the Masonry Society and is a member of ASCE, ACI and CSI
This program is under the direction of the MCAA/CMR and will be moderated by Richard Felice and Donald Grant.

The MCAA Masonry Panel Committee has developed this unique supplement to the Stone Panel presentations made at the Dallas and Nashville Conferences. Over 270 persons have already attended MCAA seminars on Stone Panels. This seminar is designed to address the job site and practical considerations of Stone Panel construction. Topics such as stone properties, special contract items, why stone projects fail and erection tips will be covered by a selected group of experts. This seminar will be under the direction of the MCAA Panel Committee, headed by L. C. "Lenny" Pardue. Jr. and will be presented in cooperation with the MCAA Education Committee, chaired by Sam Lowry.
