# Cost of Injuries
A disabling injury cost the construction industry an average of $23,500 in 1987, according to a study by Du Pont Safety and Environmental Services, which offers consulting, training and seminar products to industry. This is 22 percent greater than the $19,300 cost per injury Safety and Environmental Services found in 1986.

# Hamm New President
The Mason Contractors Association of Milwaukee, now in its 102nd year of service, has elected Lloyd S. Hamm, president, for 1988. Also elected were: W. C. Dentinger, Jr., vice president; Joel A. Gruman, secretary/treasurer and John Marino, director.

# Russell To Head CTL
Dr. Henry G. Russell will assume the office of President of Skokie, Illinois-based Construction Technology Laboratories, Inc. (CTL), a subsidiary of the Portland Cement Association. He succeeds Mr. Walter E. Kunze, who will retire.

Dr. Russell is a civil engineering graduate of the University of Sheffield, England, earning his Ph.D degree from that university in 1962. His professional honors include the American Concrete Institute's (ACI) Delmar L. Bloem Distinguished Service Award and the Precast Concrete Institute's (PCI) Martin P. Korn Award. He is a fellow and a member of the Board of Direction of ACI and a member of PCI, the Transportation Research Board, and the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois.

CTL provides a board spectrum of engineering and scientific services and specialized products with emphasis on construction, transportation, minerals and other related industries. The firm has branch offices in Los Angeles, Seattle/Tacoma, Dallas, and Tallahassee.

# MCACP Elects Officers
David L. Crowl of Kenneth Crowl, Inc., Elysburg, was recently named to a 2-year term as president of the Masonry Contractors Association of Central Pennsylvania.

Other officers of the association include Gregory Hess of Caretti, Inc., Camp Hill, vice president, and Harry McCauley, Caretti, Inc., treasurer.

The Masonry Contractors Association is a professional organization dedicated to encouraging the movement to build with brick, block, stone, and other masonry products.

# Elect Officers
The newly elected officers of the Indiana Mason Contractors Association are: President, Charles Deck, Architectural Brick & Tile; Vice President, James Dallas, Dallas Masonry and Secretary/Treasurer, David Sovinski, Masonry Institute of Indiana.

# James Named V.P.
Gary M. James has been appointed vice president of sales and marketing at Sanders Saws Inc., a leading manufacturer of diamond saw blades. One of James' primary responsibilities will be to build a larger distribution network and bring Sanders Saws' product line to more contractor-builder customers in the construction markets.

James was previously corporate vice president of sales and marketing for Stow Manufacturing Co., a major light equipment supplier to the construction industry. James was a founder and chairman of the Light Equipment Manufacturers Bureau (LEMB) under the Construction Industry Manufacturers Assoc. (CIMA), as well as co-chairman of the Light Equipment Distributors Council of Associated Equipment Distributors (AED).
