Making a decision about each item. Ask these questions: What do I have to do? When do I have to do it? Where will I store it until then? Finally, as a part of wrapping up each day and planning for tomorrow, remove any paper which accumulated during the day.
Long-Range Planning-start by defining success for yourself. This definition should include all aspects of your life, both professional and personal. Then, develop a three a year strategy to accomplish your success. Keep focused on the strategy every day. Keep a positive attitude and involve others as a team.
These tips may not completely cure karoshi, but will enable people to gain more control of their lives. Remember the old saying-Successful people choose to do what unsuccessful people choose not to do.

Atlas Copco Electric Tools, which markets electric tools for construction applications, is moving its New London, Connecticut operation to Utica, New York, headquarters of Chicago Pneumatic Tool. The Electric Tools operation will become the Chicago Pneumatic Electric Tools division.
The Masonry Institute, Bethesda, Maryland, has appointed John F. Cissel as executive director. Cissel, who has served on the institute's board since 1991, was previously salesmanager of United Concrete Products, a Frederick, Maryland concrete block manufacturer.
Donna McMenamin has been named marketing coordinator by PermaGrain Products. She's been with the firm for two years, serving in various capacities. Joan Barenholtz has been named New York City territory salesmanager. Barenholtz had been an account executive with GS Associates of Long Island City, New York.
Chicago architect Walker C. Johnson, in association with Larry M. Lasky, has opened a firm for the practice of architecture Walker C. Johnson Architects. Johnson, formerly director of restoration and rehabilitation for the firm of Holabird and Root, received his training from the University of Illinois. Lasky, also formerly with Holabird and Root, is a graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology. Offices of the firm are at 22 West Monroe, Chicago, Illinois 60603.

David Banasiak has been named assistant editor of Masonry Magazine. A graduate of Northern Illinois University, he was previously an editorial supervisor for Marquis Who's Who. Before joining Masonry he attended graduate school at St. John's College in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
