COVER

The Pickering Civic Centre, located in Pickering, Ontario, is composed of three elements: municipal government building, public library, and central entrance pavilion. The two components of municipal government building and public library each express their distinct function by a rational massing and plan arrangement and are united, visually and physically, into an overall composition by the central entry pavilion and tower. The open structure clock tower dominates the complex and becomes a focal point for the Centre from the surrounding community of Pickering. The mason contractor on the project was Deluca and Mascarin of Toronto while the architect was Shore, Tilbe, Irwin and Partners of Toronto. The mason supplier was Canada Brick.
