Robert Barkshire is currently in his second term as Region T' Vice President for MCAA. He has recently finished a term as President of the Washington State Conference of Mason Contractors.
He still remains active as a Board member and serves on the Retro Committee. Barkshire has served on the Membership, Apprenticeship, Negotiation and Health & Welfare Committees.
He now focuses much of his time as a Board Member on the Masonry Institute of Washington where some of their key accomplishments have been the publishing of a Masonry Guide Book, promotion of masonry sound barrier walls and the development of a Life Cycle Cost Manual for masonry.
Barkshire is involved with the Make A Wish Foundation, PTA and Quarter Midget Racing Association for kids.
James Ward

A pioneer for masonry action, Jim Ward was a founder of the Washington State Conference of Mason Contractors, an organization to promote contractors and coordinate the masonry industry's efforts in a productive way.
Ward currently is a Director on Masonry Institute of Washington where he oversees a strong program of masonry promotion.
Ward is active in worker recruitment with his service to both the Labor Recruiting Committee as well as his involvement on the Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee. The JATC is looking into ways to raise standards of workers, implementing a multitiered wage scale and increasing involvement of women in the trade.
Ward is also involved with numerous school and church activities but is most involved as a coach for local children sports teams.

Lenny Pardue has just capped a twenty year career of service to MCAA by serving as the national President for the past two years.
During his tenure as MCAA President, the association became deeply involved in the legislative process, it began a Political Action Committee giving support to candidates for federal office. A crowning achievement for Pardue.
Pardue remains active with the MCAA as well as his continued involvement with the Mason Contractors Association of Portland.
It's difficult to limit the selection of individuals to be highlighted in any issue when there are hundreds of individuals volunteering each day to build a brighter future for the masonry industry. In future issues of MASONRY Magazine, we will spotlight other industry leaders who are making a difference. Our hats off to the men and women both highlighted in this issue and the hundreds not listed. Thanks for giving us your time, your effort and your dedication. You have made the industry a better place to build a career, earn a living and provide for our families. Because you're doing what you're doing, the future of the masonry industry will be brighter.

Nation's Top Mason Contractors are MCAA Members and Owners of Masonry Magazine
Fifteen of the top twenty mason contractors in the U.S., per the recently published results of the Engineering News Record survey of the top 600 specialty contractors, are members of the Mason Contractors Association of America... Combined 1994 revenues of the fifteen, according to ENR, were $252,700,000. Average revenue was $16.8-million... Top producer among the fifteen was Dee Brown of Dallas, Texas, with revenues of $41.6-million... As members of MCAA, these top producers are owners of MCAA's Masonry Magazine.
