With actions in Washington D.C. and in our federal government being so volatile, never before has it been so important to have a presence in our nations capital representing the interest of mason contractors. At the urging of the Legislative Committee, we have once again agreed to join with other subcontractor associations to participate in the Construction Industry Legislative Conference which will be held in June in Washington. I urge all MCAA members to attend this conference and help the MCAA educate our elected officials to those issues that so gravely affect all of us. Electing legislators that support the masonry industry and the rights of small businesses is also an important action. The MCAA PAC is your voice as a mason contractor to elect congressmen and senators who will fight for you and the masonry industry. This past year, the MCAA PAC, through contributions from members like you, gave more money than ever before. In fact, Congressman Dennis Hastert, who has received support from the MCAA PAC the last two years has just been elected as Speaker of The House, the third most powerful position in Washington. We must double our efforts to support the MCAA PAC and those candidates that support our industry. I urge each MCAA member to give a personal contribution to the MCAA PAC. No matter how small or large, the contributions you make go directly to the candidates that we support.

our members has always been a prime objective of the Education Committee. This past year, we have increased MCAA's efforts to provide nothing but the finest materials and programs. The MCAA Conference and Trade Show has offered the hottest educational topics facing mason contractors today. From wall bracing to scaffold safety, the MCAA programs at this years conference is unequaled in our offerings. In fact, contractors can attend more sessions than in past programs, a commitment from the national association to keep you better informed and prepared.

One of the new changes that I am most proud of is the expansion of the MCAA Resource catalog. This years catalog has doubled in the educational offerings from past catalog's and you will find as you preview the catalog that we have added a Personal Enrichment section in addition to adding to our technical and safety materials. The Marketing Committee has done such a great job of selling advertising in this years catalog, that we have been able to send the MCAA Resources Catalog to every mason contractor in the country. This has had an extremely positive effect on both publication sales and membership recruitment. It's my hope to be able to send this catalog out to every mason contractor every year. Because one of our goals to to raise the educational and quality level of all mason contractors...because as an industry, we are only as strong as our weakest link.

As members, you should have also noticed that this year we sent a membership plaque and pin signifying your membership in the Mason Contractors Association of America. We hope you display these signs of support of the Providing the highest level of educational programs to MCAA and your commitment to excellence that these ma-
