# SEI Chemical Buys 21st Century Coatings Canada

SEI Chemical of Northridge, Calif., announced the purchase of 21st Century Coatings Ltd. of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. According to company sources, the buyout is effective immediately.

The significance of the buyout is that it enables customers in more markets worldwide to access a range of leading-edge coating, additive and specialty cleaning technologies, from a single source. Most notably are the two firms' diverse lines of high-end industrial coatings that utilize fluorinated and unique silicone resins systems that are proven in the fields of anti-corrosion, anti-microbiological, anti-graffiti, anti-stick, marine and high-heat applications. Depending on the product line, company offerings are sold into both consumer and industrial markets.

The purchase price was not disclosed, although SEI did announce that 21st Century will continue in the immediate future, operating under the same name and with its current sales outlets. It is expected that, in due course, sales personnel from both companies will sell a unified product line under the SEI brand.

# JLG Announces Promotions in Sales and Customer Support

JLG Industries Inc. is pleased to announce the promotions of Chris Mellott to vice president of customer assurance, Brent Yohn to vice president of field sales and service for North America, and Todd Truax to director of training.

Chris Mellott began his career with JLG in 1995, where he has held various customer-facing roles, focusing on interacting with and meeting the needs of JLG's customers. Mellott holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. In his new position, Mellott is responsible for the customer contact centers and the training and warranty groups for North America.

In his new position, Brent Yohn is responsible for all sales and service activities through JLG's regional distribution channels. Yohn started his career with JLG in 1995, and has held various management positions in sales and service. Yohn earned his bachelor's degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Todd Truax brings 12 years of sales and marketing experience in various positions at JLG. Most recently, he was the general manager for the company's mid-Atlantic ServicePlus facility. Truax holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania.

# MCAA Announces Education Seminar Dates

In today's competitive business environment, staying ahead of the ever-changing technical requirements and management practices is fundamental to any company's survival. Continuing education plays an important role in these successes.

The Mason Contractors Association of America (MCAA) is pleased to announce additional dates and locations for the Masonry Quality Institute (MQI) seminar, and the brand new Understanding Codes and Standards for the Mason Contractor seminar.

MQI will provide mason contractors the ability to measure their company's level of quality. This two-day course will assist owners in evaluating service, meeting customer expectations and improving profitability. If you are working toward your National Mason Contractor Certification, this course is required to become eligible for the exam.

MQI will be held May 31 and June 1 in Chicago, and June 13-14 in New York.

Understanding Codes and Standards for the Mason Contractor is an intensive three-hour seminar intended to help contractors understand the recently updated masonry standards. This course will cover basic masonry design and provide construction examples contractors need to know using both the code and the specification.

This seminar is intended for contractors who use the specification to erect masonry structures. Understanding Codes and Standards for the Mason Contractor will be held on May 24 in Kansas City, Mo, and June 12 in Akron, Ohio.

# Triton Power Appoints Eric Johnston CEO

Triton Power announced Eric Johnston as chief executive officer. Johnston was promoted from senior vice president and becomes the company's first chief executive officer.
