Survey: Brick is Homeowners’ Material of Choice
According to a recent Harris Interactive poll, conducted on behalf of Boral Bricks, most Americans prefer brick to other types of exterior cladding.
Via an online survey, Harris polled more than 2,000 people around the nation (69 percent claiming to be homeowners). Of those people, 59.3 percent said they prefer brick to vinyl siding, stucco, fiber cement and other siding materials for homes. Additionally, Harris reported that the heaviest concentration of homeowners in the survey who prefer brick (43 percent) live in the South.
“This research shows brick is still the overwhelming choice for homeowners who have a say in their exterior cladding,” said Boral President, Bob Kepford. “…Brick has also proven to help homes increase in value, which is important with slower real estate appreciation expected in the future.”
