Segmental Retaining Wall Design Manual Update

Words: Fernando gonzalezIn 1993 the National Concrete Masonry Association introduced the Segmental Retaining Wall (SRW) Design Manual with the specific purpose of providing the industry with a consensus state-of-the-practice methodology for SRW design. Over the last three years the manual has become a well received reference tool for design engineers. During this time however, there have been significant changes in the state of knowledge regarding Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) and SRW systems.

In order for NCMA to provide the industry with the most current design methodology for SRW's, it has become necessary to update the Design Manual to incorporate the numerous changes to the technology over the last three years. The Second Edition of the Design Manual will be available in early November. Contact NCMA for additional information.
