See What Others Say About PyroTherm.

Paul Yeatts Enterprises has a long-standing reputation for quality and project management that makes our major projects profitable, not just for our company, but for the construction professionals we serve. From our perspective, when Kvaerner John Brown Engineers specified PyroTherm High Performance CMU for use on the Bayer petrochemical job in East Houston, we didn't know what to think. But now that the job is nearly done, we can truthfully say that this CMU certainly contributed to our efficiencies and safety concerns, especially when loading the scaffolding. We could load at least twice the number of units when compared to normal weight block, and transporting the lighter units into the building's interior was faster. When anchor holes were drilled, we observed a tight, dense concrete that should hold anchors well. They also saw very easily. There is just no other way of saying that the blocks are just plain easier and safer for my masons to handle!

At first I didn't believe it a light, virtually chip-free block that had the strength of heavy units? But when the Army Corps of Engineers allowed us to use it for the dormitory job at Fort Hood instead of normal weights, I began to think again. We are about halfway through with the job and now I can tell you that I am convinced, from a masonry contractor's perspective, that the value is certainly there. I am now using PyroTherm High Performance CMU routinely on virtually all the work I do.

As a member of the ASTM C15 Committee, I understand the PyroTherm High Performance CMU exceeds all existing ASTM standards pertaining to unit masonry. We are encouraging the specification of these units, and we are excited about using this high-quality product to enhance the value and quality of the masonry wall systems we install. They cut time out of the schedule, and we save cost on building the wall. The quicker the client can get into the building, the quicker the client starts getting a return on their investment.

From an engineering point of view, the PyroTherm performance specification promises assurance of a reliable building product that will fulfill our expectations. PyroTherm's box lunch presentation was very informative, and our staff is currently evaluating upcoming projects in which to use High Performance CMU.
